Sonya Wilson (Dutch version)

Art is not necessarily about creating a pretty picture.
In my art work I try and use self-expression that will challenge the viewers and provide the visual basis for wider interpretive readings. These pieces are part of a theme I have created called "parallel lines" Where are we going and where do we come from?
Questions about society to which there are no straight answers.
My paintings are based on emotions, thoughts and feelings from within.
These are suggestions, hinted at by such titles as "heat", "Spiritual Free Flow".
My relationship with colour and all its magical properties is at the centre of my creative output. Through the use of colour / texture and the glimpse of a representational form, I wish to convey the feeling that an alchemical change may take place at any moment.
The fabric that I use in my art work are hand printed and used together with mixed media such as acrylic paints/ dyes, oil paints, pastels and handmade paper.
